October 9, 2003: Foxy, Def Jam Part Ways
Appearing on Funk Master Flex's radio show on New York's Hot 97, Foxy reported that she has left Def Jam Records after years of conflict with the label. Also mentioned during the October 8 interview was Foxy's intent to sign with one of the six unnamed labels that have reportedly approached her with recording contracts. This news does not bode well for Foxy's shelved LP, Ill Na Na 2: The Fever, which may never be released. On the other hand, Def Jam might rush it to market in a last ditch effort to recoup investment in the album.
