June 2, 2000: Foxy Contributes to Movie Soundtrack
Foxy Brown, along with a cavalcade of other hip-hop and R&B artists, will contribute to the upcoming soundtrack, "Nutty Professor II: The Klumps," which is to go on sale July 11. The album is a follow-up to the multi-platinum soundtrack of the original film, which also featured work by Brown. The new album features contributions from Foxy Brown, Jay-Z, Eve, DMX, Memphis Bleek, Redman, LL Cool J, and Method Man. The R&B tracks include offerings by Janet Jackson (who performs the lead single, "Doesn’t Really Matter," which should see its first airplay nationwide by early June), Sisqo, Brian McKnight, Montell Jordan, R. Kelly, and Case. The soundtrack’s first video, which will be for Sisqo’s "Thong Song" remix, features a cameo by our favorite rap diva, Foxy Brown. The video is to be a prequel of the "Thong Song" video, and the plot concerns several ladies clamoring for a cameo in that video. In the film, however, Eddie Murphy reprises his roles as Sherman Klump, Klump’s alter ego Buddy Love, and others in this sequel to the box-office smash, "The Nutty Professor." Murphy plays a total of six different characters in the film, which is slated to open July 28.
