March 8, 2005: Foxy Surrenders on Assault Charge
Foxy Brown surrendered to New York City police last night on a misdemeanor assault charge stemming from an August 27, 2004 confrontation with two manicurists, MTV.com reports. Late last summer, newspaper gossip columns reported that Foxy allegedly beat the two women with her cell phone after they had locked her in their salon demanding payment for a pedicure Brown never received. Foxy, pictured below with her lawyer Joseph Tacopina, appeared at the 13th Precinct station house to answer the charge, was issued an appearance ticket, and released without bail. Tacopina told the New York Post that the two salon employees are simply trying to "use the criminal-justice system to extract money from Foxy." In other news, Foxy's collaboration with 112—the remix to the R&B group's single "You Already Know"—has hit radio and is currently climbing the Billboard charts.
