January 10, 2005: Jay-Z Confirms Foxy's New Def Jam Deal During a January 10 interview on Funkmaster Flex's New York radio show, newly appointed Def Jam president Jay-Z confirmed that Foxy Brown has been signed to the Island Def Jam Music Group. Jay-Z said that either Brown or Memphis Bleek would be the first artist to release an album under his leadership, depending on who finishes recording first. Both projects will likely be released under the now wholly owned Def Jam subsidiary Roc-A-Fella Records. |
